San Diego City College will host its seventh annual Student Success Day from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 30. The Counseling, Admissions, Outreach, and Instructional departments, in collaboration with student support programs, created the event for first-time college students who have no prior college experience.
Student Success Day is structured to ensure students receive the information needed to choose the right classes to start their college career. A Resource Fair provides the opportunity for students to learn about the numerous student support programs available, and the Educational Planning Sessions allow to students to meet with their counselor to develop a two-semester educational plan. Students can also ask questions regarding classes for their major, what to do if they are undecided about their career, how to register, financial aid, and other concerns.
Parents are also welcome, and orientations for them are available in English and Spanish. A second day is scheduled this year for August 4, but it’s recommended that students attend on June 30 for best registration dates and times.
