Lynette Schroeter was an honors graduate from Patrick Henry High and academically qualified to get into any number of colleges and universities, but she couldn't afford to go. Then she heard about City College's Honors Program and decided to give that a try. "City College did a great job of preparing me for UCSD," she says. In her three years at City College she not only completed the honors core curriculum, but also worked in the Honors Program office. She enjoyed her chemistry class so much she switched from her intended major of journalism to biochemistry when she transferred to UCSD. Lynette is now a researcher at Dura Pharmaceutical where she's working on a new asthma drug.
