Fall semester began Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE). Adult students can complete certificates across 80+ high-growth and in-demand workforce sectors including Healthcare, Information Technology, and Skilled and Technical Trades or earn a high school diploma/equivalency at no cost.

“With guidance from public health authorities, we look forward to safely reopening our campuses and welcoming back our students and faculty this fall,” said Kay Faulconer Boger, Ed.D., SDCCE’s Interim President, who was appointed to lead the institution on August 1.

Enrollment for fall is currently 18,120 students, which is 81% of capacity.

“To protect the health of one another and our community, SDCCE will continue to monitor the guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).”

To maintain COVID-19 recommendations and protocols of public health officials most courses will remain fully online with minimal classes held in-person. All students and employees on campus are required to wear masks and are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved medical clearance, or present a negative COVID-19 test result.

Automotive Technician, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, and Furniture Upholstery are among certificate courses being offered in a hybrid model, students’ study remotely and participate in on-campus learning labs.

New certificate programs and classes at SDCCE include Advanced Project Management, Data Management with Python, School Age Theory and Skill Development, School Age Guidance and Curricula, and English as a Second Language and Workplace Communication.

For the first time since COVID-19 closures, many SDCCE campuses will reopen for in-person student services including enrollment support, disability support services, CalWorks, and job placement services.
