Project Progress Update
Design continued with 100% Schematic Design drawings being accepted on 2/27. The Design Development phase started and is ongoing. Graphics and branding meetings have been held to discuss project graphics, branding and signage and discussions are ongoing.
Upcoming Milestones:
- 4/17: 100% Design Development drawing submittal
- July 2026: Design Completion & DSA Submittal
- March 2027: Construction Start
Project Features
The San Diego City College Outdoor Athletics Expansion and Upgrades Project involves the upgrades and expansion of the existing outdoor athletic fields in the northern part of the San Diego City College campus. The project improvements include:
- Four (4) new sand volleyball courts with seating for spectators
- New restrooms and storage buildings
- New re-oriented softball fields, dugouts, backstop, fencing and batting cages
- Enlarging and rebuilding the existing soccer field with new artificial turf, ensuring field meets minimum NCAA dimensions
- New sidelines, support buildings, retaining structures and warm-up track
- New accessible path of travel and new accessible parking
- New infrastructure and utility improvements
