Project Progress Update

The 100% Design Development documents were received on June 11 and are currently under review. A pre-application meeting with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) was held on June 16. The finishes presentation, including a project fly-through, was presented on June 25. Swing space in Automotive Room A111 has been completed.

Upcoming Milestones:

• The furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) procurement and installation activities are ongoing.
• Submit project to DSA October 2026. 

Project Features

The San Diego College of Continuing Education Educational Cultural Complex Building Trades Training Center Project will include:

• Complete renovation of existing welding instructional spaces including material preparation and welding booth areas with state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated fume extraction system for improved air quality.
• Demo of the east canopy and construction of approximately 4,500 SF of added teaching space.
• New department reception, classrooms, offices, and storage areas.
• Dedicated spaces for robotics and automated equipment that support future-focused trade instruction.
• Replacement of the roof system in its entirety.
