Project Progress Update
The Evaluation and Design Criteria Report (EDCR) has been submitted and approved. Pre-application discussions with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) are ongoing among the structural engineering team, peer reviewers, and DSA representatives.
Upcoming Milestones:
- The project team is coordinating with HGA to finalize the scope package for DSA submission. The package is anticipated to include drop ceiling replacements, restroom upgrades, and other facility improvements, with submittal targeted for mid-September.
Project Features
The San Diego College of Continuing Education Educational Cultural Complex Seismic Upgrades Project will deliver critical structural enhancements across the full building footprint which will:
- Improve student safety
- Support a modernized learning environment
In coordination with the Division of the State Architect (DSA), the voluntary seismic improvements will be implemented in phases:
- Phase 1 – Theatre Renovation
- Phase 2 – Community/Multipurpose Room Renovation
- Phase 3 – Remaining areas of the facility
