Project Progress Update
Two Schematic Design (SD) meetings were held on June 3 and June 17. Coordination efforts are underway with NV5 and the structural engineering team to support geotechnical investigations.
Upcoming Milestones:
- Delivery of the 100% Schematic Design package is anticipated by August 1, 2026.
Project Features
The San Diego College of Continuing Education West City Expansion project includes approximately 10,800 assignable square feet (ASF) of new building construction and the modernization of a portion of the existing facility in accordance with the campus’s long-term Master Plan. The project will expand or enhance the following programs:
- Culinary Arts
- Clothing and Textiles
- Community Room
- Outdoor Gathering Space
- Emeritus Program
Other improvements include:
- New utility infrastructure, sustainable landscaping and irrigation.
- Construction of exterior walkways, sidewalk, curb and gutter improvements along adjoining street frontages.
- Accessible path of travel to designated parking.
- Exterior and interior signage.
