District Celebrates Filipino American History Month With Free Public Events

The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) and its four colleges, San Diego City, Mesa, Miramar, and College of Continuing Education, will celebrate Filipino American History Month throughout October. Events include music, cultural traditions, community gatherings, educational and career exploration, and discussions on Filipino American experiences and history. All events are free and open to the public.

Additionally, Mesa College will celebrate Filipino American History Month with a library display throughout October on the first floor of the Learning Resource Center. The display will center on this year’s theme, Beyond the Margins: Centering Intersectional Filipino American Histories.
