Apply for graduation
Graduation is not automatic upon completion of requirements. Students who expect to receive an Associate Degree or Certificate of Achievement are encouraged to apply for graduation after they have registered for the semester in which they plan to complete the requirements for their certificate or degree program. Students can apply for graduation through their mySDCCD portal.

Commencement R.S.V.P.
Attending the commencement ceremony is optional, but R.S.V.P. is required. Invitations to R.S.V.P. will be emailed in March 2026. Students must apply for graduation to receive an invitation. Please ensure your preferred email and mailing address are up to date in the mySDCCD portal under "My Personal Information".
Reserving Guest Tickets - Deadline May 22
Graduates may reserve a maximum of 4 guest tickets after submitting their R.S.V.P. Guest tickets are required for all guests ages 3 or older. The deadline to reserve guest tickets is May 22. Refer to your R.S.V.P. confirmation email for more information. For guests who cannot attend, the ceremony will be livestreamed on the Mesa College YouTube Channel.
Cap & Gown Required
Graduates must be in proper academic regalia (cap, gown and tassel) to participate in the ceremony. Caps and gowns are available for purchase at the Mesa bookstore (online and in person) along with other commencement items. Limited caps and gowns will be available for purchase on the day of the ceremony. Buy your cap and gown at Grad Fest for a discount!
Grad Fest
Join Grad Fest on May 13 or May 14 for resources and support to help you prepare for the commencement ceremony!
- Location: Outdoors, between Mesa Commons and Mesa Bookstore.
- Commencement ceremony R.S.V.P. and guest ticket support available 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- 10% discount on caps and gowns through Mesa Bookstore 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Special activities: Grad cap decorating table provided by Associated Students and Student Affairs, Career tabling by Mesa Career Services, Narcan information presented by Student Health Services, and Photobooth sponsored by National University!
Commencement Parking
Parking is free during commencement. Graduates are encouraged to park in Lot 1 located in front of the I-400 Student Services Building.
