Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:

City College:

  1. Saville Theatre Replacement: A Design Development (DD) pull planning meeting was held on Jun. 23. A Schematic Design (SD) review meeting with stakeholders was held on Jun. 25.
  1. Outdoor Athletics: A hazardous materials survey was conducted on Jun. 24. The project team also met with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to review potential site structures and ensure compliance with airspace and air navigation requirements.
  1. Career Technology Center (V101) Building Auditorium Seating Replacement: Material selection was completed on Jun. 26.

 

Mesa College:

  1. Design Center Improvements: The 100% Construction Documents (CD) estimate was reviewed during the week of Jun. 22.
  1. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The DBE provided an early 100% SD cost estimate on Jun. 22, currently within 1.7% of the project budget. The district and DBE reviewed subcontractor package bidding and buyout strategies on Jun. 23, followed by a project coordination meeting on Jun. 24.
  1. Athletics Complex: A preconstruction site walk, including potholing and sewer camera inspection, and a project coordination meeting with the DBE and district design team were held on Jun. 24.
  1. Parking Garage Overhead Door & Gate Replacement (PS-100 Building): A mandatory pre-bid job walk conference was held on Jun. 26.
  1. Hardscape Improvements: Notice to Proceed (NTP) was issued to Precision Concrete Cutting, and construction began on Jun. 26.
  1. Pool Building Door Replacement: Construction began on Jun. 29.

 

Miramar College:

  1. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The DBE met with campus leadership during the week of Jun. 22 to discuss updated exterior design concepts.
  1. Early Education Center: The district reviewed the Increment 2 50% Design Development deliverable during the week of Jun. 22. A page-turn review meeting with the DBE and district facilities team was held on Jun. 24.
  1. Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: A design workshop focusing on audio and visual elements was held with stakeholders on Jun. 25.
  1. Parking Structure (G3 and G4) Garage Overhead Door Replacement: A mandatory pre-bid job walk conference was held on Jun. 26.
  1. Roofing Repairs at Business & Math (M), Arts & Humanities (H), and College Police (T1) Buildings: The campus and Police Department approved the project logistics plan. Roofing work at T1 began on Jun. 29.

 

College of Continuing Education:

  1. New College of Continuing Education (CCE) Site: An RFP information session for prospective DBEs was held on Jun. 22. Focus group meetings were conducted for Student Support, Culinary Arts, Emeritus/DSPS, and Business Information Technology. A programming meeting to review the building layout was held on Jun. 29.
  1. Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) Building Trades Center: A virtual reality walkthrough was held on Jun. 25.
  1. ECC Theatre Renovation: A south wing terrazzo punch list walk was held on Jun. 25.
  1. CE Harbor View Parking Garage Overhead Door Replacement: A mandatory pre-bid job walk conference was held on Jun. 26.
  1. New ECC Facilities Building: The Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued on Jun. 12, and an RFP information session for prospective DBEs was held on Jun. 22.

City College:

  1. Harry West Gym: A hazardous materials survey is scheduled for Jul. 1–2.

 

Mesa College:

  1. Performing Arts Center (PAC) / Administration & Parking Structure: A third Schematic Design workshop is scheduled for Jun. 30 to discuss the black box and main theater venues. Division of the State Architect (DSA) pre-application meetings are scheduled for Jun. 29 (Phase 1) and Jul. 13 (Phase 2). The DBE is progressing the 100% SD deliverable anticipated for mid-July.
  1. Design Center Improvements: Plans will be in DSA review. A 100% Construction Documents cost estimate is expected, and prequalification and bid strategy development will be underway.
  1. Athletics Complex: A physical planning meeting covering IT, security, and building systems is scheduled for Jul. 2. The DBE is progressing the 100% SD deliverable due in mid-July.

 

Miramar College:

  1. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Building: The DBE is scheduled to meet with the district facilities team during the week of Jun. 29 to discuss the Central Utility Plant.
  1. Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The DBE is scheduled to submit the 100% Design Development package on Jun. 30.
  1. Early Education Center: A meeting with campus leadership, security, and facilities is scheduled for Jun. 30 to discuss the Increment 1 construction logistics plan.
  1. Police Academy A-2 Shotcrete Wall Assessment / Police Deck Landing Pedestrian Bridge: The 60% Schematic Design package is due in early July.
  1. Hardscape Improvements: Work is scheduled to begin Jul. 7.
  1. Data Center and Main Distribution Frame (MDF)/Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) Room Renovation: A meeting is scheduled for Jul. 6 with district facilities and the design consultant to review the existing MEP and fire alarm systems.

 

College of Continuing Education:

  1. New College of Continuing Education (CCE) Site: Site walks are scheduled for the Business IT Lab at North City (Jun. 30), Culinary at West City (Jun. 30), Nursing at City College (Jul. 1), and Nursing at Harbor View (Jul. 1). A student focus group programming meeting is scheduled for Jul. 2.
