Project Progress Update

Upcoming Milestones:

• 08-19-2025: Proposal received from Elite Backflow Service
• 09-02-2025: Contract issued to Elite Backflow Service
• 09-03-2025: Notice to Proceed (NTP) was issued.
• 09-27-2025: The official start date for this project is September 27, 2025, with work commencing on October 4, 2025. All work shall be completed within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days from the commencement date.
• 10-04-2025: District Office shutdown scheduled for Saturday October 4th from 8:00am—5pm.
• 10-27-2025: Work and final close out has been completed.

A proposal was submitted by Elite Backflow Service and, following review and approval, a formal contract was awarded to the company. A Notice to Proceed (NTP) has since been issued, authorizing Elite Backflow Service to begin work on the project. The official project start date is anticipated to be September 27, 2025. In accordance with the terms of the contract, all work is to be completed within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days from the start date.

Project Description

Complete replacement of an approved State of California lead-free 2.5-inch backflow prevention assembly to ensure compliance with the City of San Diego meter protection requirements. This scope of work includes the removal and proper disposal of the existing assembly and all associated excess materials. The replacement unit will be an approved State of California lead-free 2.5-inch Watts 909 RP (NRS) model backflow prevention assembly, fully compliant with City of San Diego meter protection standards.
