The Great California Shakeout 2015 will take place at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.

The annual event is meant to encourage people around the state to practice their earthquake preparedness procedures. At 10:15 a.m. people will drop, cover and hold on during drills held in workplaces and schools. In 2014, 10.4 million Californians participated.
