San Francisco spray paint artist Chor Boogie will have a collection of six large scale paintings and two sculptures on display from Feb. 11 through March 2 at the San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery.
An opening reception for the exhibit will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Mes Art Gallery and Courtyard. The reception will be followed by a lecture and conversation with the artist and Nirmal Mulye, Ph. D. Founder, Nostrum Group who commissioned the artwork.
A special preview talk and art demo will be held by Chor Boogie at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Art Gallery. Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and from 1 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
The paintings highlight the tension in an ideologically fractured America and address and reflect the issues that divide us - immigration, energy, foreign policy, race, the economy, class, religion, education, the environment, taxes, welfare, social security, health care, climate change and war.
