KSDS Jazz 88.3 offering 'Sounds of the Season' through Christmas

San Diego City College’s member-supported public Jazz radio station, will be presenting ‘Sounds of the Season.’ This 36-hour radio broadcast will focus on holiday-themed jazz classics that will feature artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Joe Williams, Vince Guarladi, Nat ‘King’ Cole, Ramsey Lewis and many more.

Jazz 88 LogoThe presentation will be highlighted by a reading of the classic " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by the late, legendary L.A. jazz radio host, Chuck Niles. There will be six opportunities to hear the Niles narrative - noon and 6 p.m. on December 24, 12:01 a.m., 6 a.m., noon and 6 p.m. on December 25.

This is the third annual ‘Sounds of the Season’ broadcast and it’s the radio station’s present to their listening audience. The broadcast begins at noon December 24 and runs until 11:59 p.m. on Christmas Day. The station can be heard at 88.3 on the FM dial and at http://jazz88.org.

KSDS Jazz88.3 is a nonprofit 501c3 organization, a community service of San Diego City College and part of the San Diego Community College District. It is a full-time mainstream/traditional Jazz radio station, licensed to the San Diego Community College District, broadcasting 24 hours a day from the campus of San Diego City College.

Founded in 1951, the station began programming Jazz in 1973 and became San Diego's only full-time Jazz station in 1985. KSDS is licensed by the FCC as a non-commercial, nonprofit educational radio station and operates with 22,000 watts at 88.3 on the FM dial.
