Past meetings have focused on promoting student success from pre-kindergarten through college. Through such collaborative efforts, the two districts have seen a fourfold jump in the number of high school students concurrently enrolled in college courses over the past year. In addition, the two districts in 2016 worked together to launch the San Diego Promise, and expansion of the free community college program will be a key topic of discussion in the upcoming joint board meeting.
The April 18 meeting is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. in the Theater at the Educational Cultural Complex, 4343 Ocean View Blvd., 92113.
