Primary Election Update

July 6, 2018 | Constance M. Carroll, Chancellor of the San Diego Community College District

Dear Colleagues and Friends:

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters has 30 days after the Primary Election to officially certify the vote to the Secretary of State. After a thorough review and count of the outstanding ballots, the final Primary Election results have been released, which in some cases differ from those that we saw immediately following the election.

The following individuals will be included on the November General Election ballot, where the districtwide electorate, encompassing the entire City of San Diego, will determine the final individual who will be seated (in alphabetical order by Trustee District):

- Trustee District A: Diane Hickman (Educator/Healthcare Professional) and Maria Nieto Senour (Trustee/Professor Emeritus).

- Trustee District C: Loren S. Casuto (Adjunct Professor SDSU) and Craig Milgrim (Community College Professor).

- Trustee District E: David Alvarez (San Diego City Councilmember) and Sean Elo-Rivera, J.D. (Education Policy Director).

This information is provided for informational purposes so that you will be aware of the forthcoming General Election, which affects our governing board and therefore the District. Let me remind us all to avoid using District equipment, facilities, funding, or paid time for campaigning or advocacy during any aspects of the election.

Please join me in congratulating all candidates who have chosen to stand for election to this important office. We are grateful to all who stand for elective office, especially to benefit the cause of education.

Dr. Constance M. Carroll
Chancellor
San Diego Community College District
