Webinars promote African American Student Success Week

This week, April 27-May 1, 2020, is African American Student Success Week. African American Student Success Week is an effort to share research insights and provide support services for improving student success among Black and African American students at California Community Colleges.

A series of webinars will be held throughout the week to inform participants of how best to advocate for and support this student population. 

This week’s webinars will provide a deeper dive into the research, concepts and best practices discussed during last week’s townhall. Join us daily 3 to 4 p.m.

Monday, April 27: Recommendations to Improve the Success of African American Students

Tuesday, April 28: Housing Insecurity of African American Students

Wednesday, April 29: Making the Case for African American Student Success

Thursday, April 30: Meeting the Educational Needs of Black Students During and After COVID-19

Friday, May 1: Student Voices: The Transfer Journey for African American Students to HBCU, CSU and UC

This week is supported by A2MEND, Umoja Community, Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, the Campaign for College Opportunity, The Education Trust-West, the Community College League of California, and the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office.
