The grant has been critical in establishing a Dreamer Support Program responsible for community outreach and engagement while tracking the academic success of the undocumented students enrolled at the SDCCD; expanding Dreamer Resource Centers at City and Mesa colleges and establishing a Dreamer Resource Center at Miramar College; conducting an annual districtwide Student Empowerment Conference comprising more than 15 workshops attended by more than 250 participants; providing more than 300 hours of individualized legal services for students; and boosting the number of students filing AB 540 affidavits and Dream Act applications.
