Virtual town hall to focus on statewide needs

San Diego Community College District

On April 22, 2020, to kick off the Board of Governors’ first-ever Virtual Advocacy Day, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office is hosting a Virtual Town Hall from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The Town Hall will feature key legislators, Board of Governors members, Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley, and system partners and stakeholders speaking to the needs and priorities of community colleges during and after the COVID-19 crisis. Representatives from the San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees are also expected to participate.

In addition, there will also be a moderated panel of students, led by state Vice Chancellor-Government Relations David O’Brien, which will address student needs and campuses responses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All are invited to join the conversation, which will focus on making a case for continued investment in California Community Colleges.
