Celebrating the Black Family: The Stories We Tell
Join us at noon on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 for storytelling by various artists.
The event will feature:
- Mitchell Capel know as “Gran’daddy Junebug,” is an award-winning Master Storyteller, he has been described as a “transformer of lives” and a “national treasure.”
- Daj’ahn Blevins, Chief Executive Officer of San Diego Urban Warriors Inc. Special segments from the Kuumba Fest Parade of History.
- Simone Edward, poet, two-time recipient of The Spoken Word Artist of the Year Award at the San Diego Prestige.
- Vocalist: Willie Lang, Apprenticeship Readiness Program Coordinator
