Commencements begin May 19 at the SDCCD

Commencement season begins this Friday, May 19 at the San Diego Miramar College, with thousands of degrees and certificates being handed out to graduates at the district’s four colleges over the next few weeks.

About 3,700 graduates from San Diego City, Mesa and Miramar colleges will be receiving degrees and certificates, while over 10,000 vocational program certificates will be awarded to San Diego College of Continuing Education graduates.

“This is one of the happiest times of the year at the San Diego Community College District,” said Acting Chancellor Gregory A. Smith. “The commencements celebrate of the hard work of our students, who have a bright future ahead of them whether they are transferring to a university or starting their new careers.”

Below is the schedule for commencements in the San Diego Community College District, listed in chronological order and with the number of graduates.

San Diego Miramar College: (1,074 graduates) Friday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at Compass Point on the college campus.

San Diego City College: (1,028 graduates) Thursday, May 25 at 5 p.m. at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park.

San Diego Mesa College: (1,581 graduates) Friday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at Merrill Douglas Stadium on campus.

San Diego College of Continuing Education: (10,537 vocational program certificates) Wednesday, June 7 at 5 p.m. at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park.
