Rashmi Kamath holds up her certificate of completion
Rashmi Kamath recently completed the Chief Information Systems Officer certificate program.

She was well-known in the District for her expertise and her ability to lead teams and deliver successful projects. So, when she heard about the Chief Information Systems Officers Association (CISOA) Certification program, she knew that it was something she wanted to pursue and an opportunity for SDCCD to invest in.

The CISOA program was a rigorous certification program that was designed for professionals who wanted to gain a deeper understanding of information systems management, CA State Information Technology Administration, security, and risk management. It was widely recognized as one of the most challenging and prestigious Chief Information Systems Officer (CISO) certifications in the field, and only a select few were accepted into the program each year.

Rashmi was determined to be one of those select few. She poured all of her energy and focus into her studies, and group studies and spent countless hours researching, studying, and practicing for project deliverables and presentations. And finally, her hard work paid off – she successfully completed the program.

The news of Rashmi's success quickly spread throughout the SDCCD community, and her colleagues and peers were all thrilled for her. But for Rashmi, the success was more than just a personal achievement. It was an opportunity to bring new ideas and perspectives to the SDCCD, and to help the organization continue to innovate and grow.

As part of the certification program, Rashmi had the opportunity to attend the CISOA conference, which was being held in San Francisco. And as an added bonus, SDCCD ITS had been selected to present a session at the conference, titled SDCCD Blue Ocean Strategy – One San Diego.

The SDCCD Blue Ocean Strategy is a bold and innovative approach to information technology access, and security and the potential of transforming the way SDCCD manages technology, innovation, and modernization efforts for operations, teaching, and learning.

For Rashmi, the success of the certification program and the presentation at the conference were just the beginning. She was excited to continue to push the boundaries of what was possible in information technology and to help SDCCD become a technology global leader.

In the end, Rashmi's success was a testament to the power of hard work, determination, and a commitment to innovation. And it was a reminder that with the right mindset and the right opportunities, anything is possible.
