Recruiters representing more than 100 employers who are looking to hire will converge at San Diego Mesa College on Thursday, March 21, 2024 for a San Diego Community College District spring career fair, an event that promises to provide ample networking opportunities for SDCCD students and alumni.

The fair, which also will offer job seekers with information on available jobs and internships in a variety of industries, is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Mesa College Commons, near Sunrise Plaza, and extending past the Quad.

Register for the Career Fair

“We are grateful for all the businesses and nonprofits that have registered to recruit during this career fair. We encourage anyone who is looking for work or exploring  future career paths to attend. The March 21st career fair is a great opportunity for students to connect with employers across a wide variety of career pathways and industry sectors,” said Amertah Perman, the district’s Dean of Career Education and Workforce Development, who noted that photographers will be on hand to take professional headshots for students and alumni.

Those unable to attend the event, but are nonetheless interested in employment opportunities can explore career options via Handshake, the districtwide job board - an app-based platform the SDCCD is using that provides personalized job discovery and connects students and employers. Employers and students can register for the career fair via Handshake, but no student will be turned away at the event.

The San Diego Community College District is an economic power, generating $4.5 billion in added income to the regional economy in fiscal year 2023, according to Lightcast, a leading provider of economic and labor market data. The accumulated income of former students now working in the region amounted to $3.8 billion, an amount supporting an estimated 35,667 jobs.

The March 21 career fair is free and open to the public. It is being organized by SDCCD Career Services in cooperation with San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges and the San Diego College of Continuing Education. Questions?
