Lost & Found

A person who finds lost property is not required to take charge of it. If a person does take charge of lost property, a reasonable effort should be made to identify the owner and return the property. If the owner cannot be found, the property must be turned over to the college police. Business offices at Continuing Education Centers will also accept lost property.

Lost property is held for 90 days except for textbooks, which are given to the bookstore during the last week of the session. If the property (excluding money, which is credited to the District general fund) is not claimed by the owner, the property may be claimed by a finder who is not a District employee (District Procedure 7760.1).
