The San Diego Community College District won a 2022 CCPRO Bronze Award for its marketing campaign launched in August 2021, which included promotion of its colleges on bus sides, billboards, transit shelters, social media, and digital ads.

SDCCD Communications and Public Relations recently received eight “Pro Awards” from the Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO). The awards, presented April 7 at the annual CCPRO conference in Lake Tahoe, recognize the best of the best in marketing communications from California’s 117 community colleges.

The SDCCD team won gold awards in four categories: presentation folder, feature story, notecard/invitation, and for video profile. The SDCCD also took home silver in promotional video (short) and video profile. Lastly, the team earned bronze awards for marketing campaign and “SDCCD NewsCenter,” the district’s online newsletter.

“It’s always nice to be recognized by your peers for producing award-worthy work,” said Jack Beresford, SDCCD Director of Communications and Public Relations. “I’m especially happy for our team, which frequently works behind the scenes to market the district and enhance its public image. These awards are a credit to their talent.”

Creative for the district’s “Your Future Starts Here” enrollment marketing campaign, including a promotional video and out-of-home ads received praise by one member of the judging panel:

“The creative elements in this campaign were well-designed, featured a diverse student population, and had a consistent theme throughout all of them. I enjoyed the various use of colors throughout the campaign, and although there were various colors used, they had a consistent tone and feel.”
