With each day’s news, I know many of us are shocked and dismayed at the violence directed at the people of Ukraine. These are particularly difficult times for those with ties to Ukraine, including many with friends and family living there or fleeing the conflict. Other members of the SDCCD community have experienced wars and conflict firsthand. Please know the District supports each of you through this crisis and that our colleges are providing resources and hosting healing events for those who are in need of assistance.

As the conflict continues and we begin to grasp the full scope of the humanitarian crisis, I encourage you to support each other and if you can, offer your financial assistance to the various relief agencies that are responding in Ukraine. Chancellor Eloy Oakley included a helpful list of relief agencies in his recent message about the conflict in Ukraine.
Wishes for peace and healing,
Sincerely,
Carlos O. Turner Cortez, Ph.D.
Chancellor of the San Diego Community College District
