Students and families in middle school, high school, and community college are encouraged to attend and learn about how to prepare for the competitive landscape of higher educations. Come to learn how to navigate the process of preparing for college and hear from UC San Diego’s Admissions team on what the University of California is looking for in the application process.
Remarks will be provided from distinguished guests, Dr. Michael V. Drake, current President of the University of California and the first Black person to hold this coveted position; as well as Dr. Shirley Weber, California’s Secretary of State, who will serve as our Keynote Speaker. Attendees of the event will enjoy engaging in interactive workshops, hear from current students, and have the opportunity to win gifts and prizes, including gift cards and technology gifts (i.e. Air pods/Beats, tablet, laptop). Following the event, all attendees will receive a resource guide that will highlight Community Based Organization programs and scholarships, tips on preparing for college, UC requirements, financial aid, and a plethora of resources.
We hope you take the time to join us for an informative and transformational event designed to guide scholars and families on the journey to higher education.
