Colleges Host Veterans Day Events

The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD), including San Diego City, Mesa, Miramar, and Continuing Education colleges will recognize military veterans and active duty in honor of Veterans Day from November 5-20. Events are free and open to the public.

From Silence to Pride:  The Legacy of “Don't Ask, Don't Tell”
An educational celebration to highlight the importance of mental health and wellness for LGBTQIA+ identities within the U.S. Armed Forces and a presentation on the history and trauma of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Beginning Monday, November 4, the City College library will host a veterans themed book display throughout the month of November.

The SDCCD District Office and all campuses will be closed Monday, November 11, 2024 in observance of Veterans Day. Classes and district services will resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday, November 12.

More than 5,000 veterans, active-duty military and military dependents are enrolled in the district. Mesa College and City College have earned Gold and Silver status respectively as Military Friendly schools for 2023-2024.
