National Immigrant Day Professional Panel
A panel of speakers, composed of Velma Calvario, a Nahua indigenous community member
and educator, Marta Rodriguez, a member of the Kumeyaay Nation and cultural promoter,
and Dr. Gabriela Kovats Sánchez, a Chicana Scholar on racial and ethnic identity formation,
will discuss indigenous identities as experienced on both sides of the Mexico-U.S.
border and those crossed by it.

From September 15 to October 10, a Latinx Heritage Book Display will be available on the library’s main floor from 5 to 6:45 p.m., showcasing stories from undocumented communities worldwide. From October 13 to 31, an Undocumented Student Success Week Book Display will be presented in MS-162 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
