Project Progress Update
The project was awarded at the September 11 Board meeting and a kickoff meeting was held while design meetings progress.
Upcoming Milestones:
- June 15th, 2026—Schematic Design Approval
Project Features
The Miramar College Performing Arts Center and English and Gallery Building Project will add approximately 106,400 GSF of new construction to support academic programs in the Humanities and provide modern facilities for both students and the surrounding community. Key features include advanced classrooms, multimedia labs, performance spaces, and a public gallery, replacing an aging lecture hall. The project also includes:
- Site preparation and new utilities
- Extensive exterior improvements, including landscaping, accessible pathways, and signage
- Modern classrooms, writing labs, multimedia studios, and editing suites
- Public gallery space
- Stagecraft, multimedia, and performance venue with large lecture hall, advanced AV systems, and flexible event space
- Demolition of the southeast portion of Lot 2
- Strategic location along Black Mountain Road to serve as a welcoming campus gateway and cultural asset
