Basic Needs

On this page:

The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) is committed to eliminating disparities in access to education.

SDCCD connects with students for resources and services that impact health, belonging, and overall well-being from a collective of on, and off-campus program collaborations and program partnerships in the greater San Diego area.  Basic Needs refers to the food, housing, financial, and mental and physical wellness security of our students. We have created support programs and resources that can assist our students in meeting their basic needs and promoting their academic success.

Resources such as food, housing, childcare, mental health, financial assistance, and transportation have been established through a Basic Needs Center at each of the SDCCD colleges and College of Continuing Education to support students’ ability to concentrate and successfully complete their classes.  SDCCD campuses maintain a list of local resources to provide information to students in need of shelter or a meal.
