The San Diego Community College District offers a wide range of versatile spaces available for rent to accommodate a variety of events. With convenient locations and affordable rates, we provide an ideal setting for both large and small events.

Rental spaces are in modern facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technology, open and flexible seating table arrangements or fixed classroom style, as well as on-site support services to ensure your event succeeds. Available resources to help enhance your event include on-site catering options, reprographics, audiovisual support, and event security.

Rental rates are guided by California’s Civic Center Act, outlining costs that school and college districts may charge for the use of campus facilities or grounds. Liability insurance is required for all rental groups; additional insurance is required when alcohol is provided or for athletic events. See our Frequently Asked Questions for further information. Frequently Asked Questions

Community and service organizations, governmental entities, businesses, school districts, non-profit and for-profit corporations, and private event managers may use approved college facilities when available. 

Yes, however, registered non-profit organizations conducting free public events may qualify for a discount on facilities fees. Additional fees may also be charged for the use of college equipment, services provided by college personnel, utilities, etc.  

Most requests can be accommodated with a 30-day notice. Events with special requirements, athletic events, or events for more than 100 attendees will need advance notice of at least six weeks. Given the high demand for our facilities, we recommend submitting your request as early as possible. Availability is based on a first-come, first-served basis when applications are received.  

We encourage anyone interested in booking a venue to schedule an appointment for a tour of the facility rental options available. 

All of our rental packages are customizable to meet the needs of your event or special day. We encourage you to reach out to us with your preferences and review what we have to offer. 

Yes, although parking availability does vary depending on the facility type and the campus. Rates vary by day of the week and holidays.  We can recommend the most suitable facilities if planning a significant group event. 

We have a whitelist of acceptable vendors with confirmed required insurance and certificates. If you have a vendor in mind who is not on our whitelist, we can work with your choice of vendor to get them added. This will require additional advance notice. 

We have a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for rent. Our venues include corporate conference meeting rooms, lecture halls, classrooms, art galleries, performance theatres, outdoor terraces, aquatic centers, gymnasiums, and other athletic facilities.  
 
Are you planning a wedding? We’ve hosted rooftop weddings at City College, affording guests an unparalleled view of the San Diego skyline. 

Yes, all rental groups shall be responsible for providing proof of insurance coverage. The minimum coverage for general liability insurance is at least $1,000,000 per occurrence, including bodily injury, personal injury, and property damage. Proof of auto insurance is also required.  Any vendors hired by renters must provide proof of insurance, including general liability, workers comp, and auto. 
 
Additional insurance is required for athletic events or events where alcohol will be served.
