Supplemental Verification
Supplemental Verification
Supplemental verification ensures that the student's identity is verified and proves that they are who they claim to be. This prevents anyone from carrying out a process on other people's behalf without authorization, creating false identities, or committing fraud.
Your record was flagged for additional verification. The Department of Education requires colleges to validate student accounts when discrepancies or suspicious activity have been discovered. There are two types of supplemental verification:
- Admissions Verification: Students will be asked to submit a help desk ticket, or visit the Admissions office, with a government issued photo ID and a document verifying your physical address.
- Financial Aid Verification:
Please submit the following documents in-person:
-
- Government issued ID
- Utility bill
- Social security card
If you have questions regarding your outstanding requirements, you may contact your campus Financial Aid Office. However, in order to receive financial aid information over the phone or email, students must first submit a "Financial Aid Password Form" online through JIRA with a valid government issued photo ID. Students will be asked to make an appointment with the Financial Aid Office once submitted.
To find out which one you must complete, login to mySDCCD and visit your message center.

Students must contact the appropriate office by the deadline indicated on their verification email or they will be dropped from their classes.
