Career Education Leadership and Career Services Leadership at all four SDCCD colleges have requested increased support for career education and workforce faculty and staff professional development. This professional development series will begin a years-long process of training, faculty engagement, and continuous improvement as we find better ways to support our faculty.

Industry Advisory Committees Workshop – February 11: 9am – 10:30am - ZOOM This engaging session will highlight committee roles, effective meeting practices and districtwide resources—equipping you with practical tools to drive program improvement and workforce alignment. State of CTE – Districtwide Summit - February 17, 9am - 11am - (Mesa Commons 211) The State of CTE Districtwide Summit at San Diego Community College District brings together educators, industry partners, and community leaders to celebrate and advocate for Career Technical Education (CTE) as a driver of regional economic growth. Disability Awareness Training for Career Professionals – February 19 - (Miramar College) We encourage career center staff, wbl professionals, employer relations liaisons, job placement case managers, career counselors, and all others engaged in supporting career success for students to attend. Following the training, participants will gain access to the Disability Aware Career Services Toolkit and the Disability Aware Employer Engagement Toolkit.

Military Credit for Prior Learning Workshop – CTE FACULTY – March 10: 9:30am – 11am - Hyflex (City College MS 140) This workshop highlights faculty roles in creating equitable, student-centered CPL opportunities and explores military transcripts, and alignment with SDCCD curriculum. Military Credit for Prior Learning Workshop – COUNSELING -March 18: 9:30am – 11am - Hyflex (Mesa College - LRC435) Gain practical tools for helping students identify eligible prior learning, understand CPL options, and integrate credit into their academic and career pathways. Adult Learner Study - Center of Excellence Presentation – April 13, 2pm – 3pm- ZOOM 60-minute presentation of findings from the COE's Adult Learner Study.  This study examined adult learners’ goals for enrolling, barriers to persistence, needs and essential supports, satisfaction and experiences at community colleges, and employment outcomes. CTE Code Alignment Workshop - April 14, 9:30am - 11am - ZOOM - CTE Faculty focused review of program and course codes (SAM, TOP, CIP, and SOC) and code alignment requirements. Learn how program and course codes impact the curriculum process, program and student outcomes, funding, and more. 

Work-Based Learning Coding Workshop – CITY COLLEGE – April 14th: 11am – 1pm – R109 (City College) At City College, Work-Based Learning (WBL) opportunities are integrated into curricula in the form of clinical placements, internships, on-the-job work experiences, and many more activities. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to code the WBL activities in their sections directly in the PeopleSoft faculty portal. Lunch will be provided.
