Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:

City College:

1. “A” Building Expansion: A Design Development (DD) review workshop with the campus executive review committee was held on Sep. 17.

Mesa College:

1. Athletics Complex: DD focus group meetings with the East Stadium/Throw Park and Athletic Training groups were held on Sep. 14.
2. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: DD workshops were held with the following groups: Dance Dressing Rooms/Changing Areas on Sep. 14, Recital Hall on Sep. 15 and Black Box on Sep. 16. The 100% Schematic Design (SD) review meeting with the Design-Build Entity (DBE) and Kitchell Estimating was held on Sep. 18.
3. Design Center Improvements: Requests for Information (RFIs) were submitted to the district on Sep. 18.

Miramar College:

1. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Building: The campus reviewed revised exterior rendering options and the gender-neutral restroom exhibit during the week of Sep. 14.
2. Aviation Instructional Center: The DBE investigated an alternative site at Montgomery Field while continuing to plan for the project at the current location.
3. Early Education Center: The DBE hosted a DD meeting with campus stakeholders on Sep. 16. The campus and stakeholders also met on Sep. 16 to plan for a groundbreaking ceremony.

College of Continuing Education:

1. Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) Welding: A mechanical, electrical, and plumbing discussion with district facilities was held on Sep. 15.
2. Lighting Inverters (Multiple Buildings Across CCE Campuses): The final bid addendum was submitted on Sep. 15.
3. New Site for SDCCE: An SD meeting with stakeholders was held on Sep. 15, followed by meetings with the following focus groups: Campus Security and Parking on Sep. 16 and Culinary Arts on Sep. 18.

Mesa College:

1. Design Center Improvements: An addendum addressing RFI responses will be issued during the week of Sep. 21.
2. Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: A DD workshop with the Venue and Lobbies group is scheduled for Sep. 22. Student engagement events are scheduled during Club Rush, a campuswide event where student organizations, clubs and athletic teams showcase their activities and connect with students on Sep. 23 and 24.
3. Athletics Complex: Student engagement events are scheduled during Club Rush, on Sep. 23 and 24. An SD cost estimate reconciliation between the DBE and district is ongoing.
4. Lighting Inverters Replacement at buildings Math & Science (MS), Business & Technology (BT), Police Offices (Q100 & Q200), Allied Health Education (S), Social Behavioral Sciences (SB), and Stadium East: The project is targeted for completion by the end of September.

Miramar College:

1. Early Education Center: The DBE will meet with campus facilities during the week of Sep. 21 to discuss finishes.
2. Aviation Instructional Center: The DBE will host a DD meeting with campus stakeholders on Sep. 22.
3. Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Building: The DBE will host a DD meeting on Sept. 24 focused on the canyon, a central section of the building, and the performance venues.
4. Lighting Inverters Replacement at buildings Gym (J), Aquatic Center (P-1), Student Resource Center (K-2), Parking Garage (G-3 & G4), Arts & Humanities (H), Administration (N), Science (S-6), and Advanced Transportation (C-2): The project is targeted for completion by the end of September.

College of Continuing Education:

1. Lighting Inverter (Multiple Buildings Across CCE Campuses): Bids are due on Sept. 21.
2. New Site for SDCCE: Campus Security and Parking and Business Information Technology (BIT) focus group meetings are scheduled for Sep. 23.

Key Items of Interest

1. Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate (ALICE) Training: Required ALICE training for Measure HH staff was held on Sep. 17 and facilitated by College Police. The training provided staff with strategies and skills to respond to an active shooter situation until first responders arrive.
