Prior Week’s Key Accomplishments:
City College:
- “A” Building Expansion: Design-Build Entity (DBE) and campus leadership held a workshop.
- Saville Theatre Replacement: Final programming workshop held.
- Saville Theatre Replacement: Site walk conducted with civil, electrical and structural consultants.
- Career Center Room 301 Renovation: Contract and notice to proceed awarded to All-Source Company Building Group. Construction commenced Dec. 22.
- Garage Gate Replacement at VTC and MS Buildings: Contract and notice to proceed awarded to Suffolk Construction. Construction commenced Dec. 22.
- Garfield Parking Garage Elevator: Will be repaired using a cooperative agreement with Omnia. Contract awarded to 24 Hour Elevator. Board approval occurred on Dec. 18.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The Program Management Organization (PMO), DBEs, district design team, and campus stakeholders completed programming workshops and are finalizing the program and criteria. They coordinated survey scope with Mesa College DBEs, held regular project meetings, and refined the program to finalize the budget augmentation request.
- Outdoor Athletics Complex: The DBE, PMO, and district design team reviewed the initial concept design, including massing and blocking models. The second concept design meeting was held Dec. 19 with campus stakeholders. The team continued refining and validating the program to finalize the budget augmentation request.
- Design Center Improvements: The irrigation system adjacent to spaces was tested and assessed. The design development phase deliverable was submitted to the district design team for review Dec. 19.
- LRC Elevator 24-Hour Elevator: Intermittent shutdown for engineering appraisal for shop drawings occurred on Dec. 19. Construction anticipated to be completed early-mid Oct. 2026.
- Building A-100 Transformer Evaluation & Replacement: H+W submitted a design proposal for the replacement.
- Baseball Field Netting: Project has been approved to be considered an emergency project as of Dec. 10. BWE design documents for the RFP were completed during the week of Dec. 15. RFP was issued to South Bay Fencing. Estimated timeline: 4 weeks for procurement and 3 weeks for construction.
Miramar College:
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The district design team reviewed and issued comments to the DBE for the program deliverable document.
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The district design team received the program deliverable document from the DBE and began its review.
- Early Education Center: The district design team received an updated draft of the program deliverable document and began its review.
College of Continuing Education:
- CE West City Expansion: Clothing and textiles focus group meeting held.
- ECC Building Trades Training Center (Welding): Swing space site walk conducted.
- ECC Building Trades Training Center (Welding): Swing space decision made by campus leadership; relocation to automotive space approved.

Coming Week Look-Ahead:
City College:
- Learning Resource Center (LRC) AHU & Boiler Replacement: The LRC Boiler Replacement and AHU Rebuild at City College was Board-approved for ACCO (contractor). A Notice of Award was issued, with construction scheduled from Jan. 5 through Jan. 23, 2026.
Mesa College:
- Performing Arts Center / Administration & Parking Structure: The DBE will document the final program and criteria for the programming phase deliverable. Campus leadership and the PMO will finalize details of the budget augmentation request. PMO will finalize the transfer of the dance program from the Outdoor Athletics Complex project.
- Outdoor Athletics Complex: The DBE will hold a second concept design workshop with PMO, the district design team, and campus stakeholders to present and further develop the program and criteria for the project. The campus liaison and PMO will meet with campus leadership to finalize the budget augmentation request and process.
Miramar College:
- Montgomery Field Aviation Instructional Center: The DBE will revise the program deliverable document to reflect comments and resubmit for approval. The campus will issue the additional funding request form to the district.
- Performing Arts Center & English/Gallery Project: The design team will review the program deliverable for the recommended program design and issue comments to the DBE. The DBE will provide the final cost estimate, after which the campus will issue the additional funding request form to the district.
- Early Education Center: The design team will review the program deliverable for the recommended program design and issue comments to the DBE. The campus will issue the additional funding request form to the district.
College of Continuing Education:
- ECC Community Room / Ceramics: Design check-in scheduled.

Key Items of Interest:
- City Fence (Goat Trail) at Harry West Gym: This project will replace chain-link fencing along the goat trail (City College tennis courts to SR-163) with a 10-foot metal fence and pedestrian gate to enhance campus safety. The project will be competitively bid.

- Gym Floor Repair/Replacement: Campus direction needed by Jan. 16 to meet summer 2026 installation timeline.
Miramar College:
- Early Education Center: District direction needed for inclusion of additional classrooms, pending program submission and funding approval.
