New Way to Pay
We are excited to announce our partnership with Nelnet to process secure student online payments. With Nelnet, payment options have been expanded. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, or a bank account (ACH payment) for student transactions.
As part of this transition, there are a few important steps students need to take:
- First-Time Login: When students log in to the payment site for the first time, they will be prompted to fill in their name, address, email, and phone number.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup: Students will need to set up a new authentication method, a crucial step to safeguard credit card data and ensure transactions are secure. Please note that this authentication method is different from the one students may have already set up for Canvas.
Students can choose to use an authenticator app or to receive secure codes via email when logging into the secure payment site.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) isn’t just a good idea anymore—it’s a must. With cyber threats evolving every day, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) now requires institutions that handle customer credit card information to implement MFA.
You may have setup your MFA with your @student.sdccd.edu account which is required to access student email, Canvas, and other Microsoft 365 services provided by SDCCD. This MFA is specifically with Nelnet and is needed to ensure your credit card information is secure.
